Professor Tae Keun Yoo
Prof. Tae Keun Yoo, internationally recognized as the ceramic artist of the Korean Moon Jar (달항아리, dalhangari pronounced as Dahl-Hahng-Ah-Ree), is one of the most active and popular professional ceramic artists in South Korea.
Prof. Yoo is the President of the ChungMa Ceramics Research Institute and a full-time faculty member of the School of Design at Kyungil University, Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Traditional Pottery from Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts, Japan, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Pottery from Kyungil University, South Korea.
Prof. Yoo has held more than 100 solo exhibitions, invitational exhibitions, and international group exhibitions with his ceramic arts and paintings. His work is held in public and private collections in South Korea as well as in other countries including Great Britain, China, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Vietnam, and the United States. He has received many awards and served as an art juror in art competitions and exhibitions in South Korea.

Prof. Yoo will lecture about Korean ceramics, its traditional and modern evolvement, and then perform a practical demonstration illustrating how to create Korean ceramics, involving the audience in an onstage demonstration.
